I'm 34 today!

It is my birthday today.

The only thing missing was Dad. He died this past December. He loved celebrating birthdays. I remember he would wish me a Happy Birthday always early. Even though he wasn't physically with me, he was with me in spirit.

I had a great day-spent it with Mickey, my hubby & mom. I got great gifts and received many phone calls/emails from family & friends. But the best gift of all is that I'm alive another day. And that my mom had a great day too! We went to Atlantic City. Mom & Dad went there all the time. We went to their favorite restaurant and casino. It was great to see mom's face light up again-especially so soon after dad's death. That's gift enough for me.

Where did Chinita come from?

When I was deciding on what to call my blog, I thought of so many things. I chose Chinita because it is a nickname from my father. He has recently passed away-12/11/06, so it is my way to pay a little tribute to him.

I am half Cuban/half Filipino. I believe the nickname came about because of my eyes are almond shaped-like some Asian/Chinese people I know. I think the direct translation is little Chinese girl.

So, Chinita it is. Chatter-well, I love to chit-chat with friends, family, colleagues and well, it is alliterative.

Chinita's Chatter will be a compilation of randomness-from what's I ate for lunch-to what projects I'm working on-to where my hubby and I have travelled lately. It may also be a place where I vent. But I hope to make it a place to share. I love websites-so I plan on adding to the list.

I'm still learning this blog thing-so stay tuned for updates & additions.
